2019 SUMMER STRING CAMP

Introducing our 2nd Solo & Chamber String Camp for young artists in our region!

After the success of our First ever String Camp 2018, this November, SRIMF Faculty of professional musicians will lead 5 days 4 nights Fun-filled days of music making in Penang, Malaysia!

The highlight of this year’s Camp, we are very honoured to invite Dr. Robin Wilson from Australia who is the mentor of Menuhin Competition winner Christian Li.

A great opportunity to focus on honing your music talent, SRIMF Young Artist Camp programs will include Daily  Masterclass, Piano Studio Class, Technique building class, Workshops, Chamber Music and Ensemble Training, Gala Concert and more. We are excited to offer this new opportunity for both beginners and advanced young musicians to expand their skills and knowledge of their instruments in a intensive yet FUN musical experience.

Each Participant is required to prepare a Solo piece for masterclass, and will be assigned Chamber Music or Ensemble piece for Training Workshops and Gala Concert. Sign up now and look forward to making music together with friends and experience the improvement in your playing after the camp! Our goal is to provide exceptional experiences for musical and personal growth, ultimately enriching the quality of your child’s music education.

SRIMF Young Artist String Camp is designed for Violin, Viola, Cello and Piano young musicians of all abilities and will be held in the beautiful island of Penang.

GUEST ARTIST

DR Robin Wilson

Violin

Regarded as one of Australia’s leading pedagogues, Dr Robin Wilson is Head of Violin and Head of Young ANAM at the Australian National Academy of Music n Melbourne and maintains a select studio in the Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.His students are regular prize-winners of all of the major national competitions and many international competitions, including first prize in the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition.

Cindy Yan

Violin / Chamber & Ensemble

Ms Yan, Festival Director of SRIMF in the past 6 years, is also a well-sought after Violinist for her excellent well-rounded experience in Solo Recital, Orchestra and Chamber works. She held position of Principal Violin in Wellington Sinfonia (NZ) and currently holds position of adjunct faculty in National University of Singapore Orchestra and NAFA Young Talent Program. In the past 10 years, she has nurtured many of her students into outstanding young violinist who have won top prizes in Local and International Competitions.

Natasha Liu

Cello / Chamber & Ensemble

An award winning cellist, Ms Natasha Liu is trained in Japan, Denmark and UK. She performed actively throughout Europe and Asia including the Royal Variety Show, Uk and National Day Parade, Singapore. Ms Liu draws on her years of experience as a concert cellist to create a comprehensive teaching program focusing on musical development and creativity through fun and discipline. She is teaching at NAFA SYT. Under her guidances, some had earned places at prestigious academies such as the Royal College of Music, UK and Berklee College of Music, US.

Su Tzu Yuan

Violin / Viola / Chamber

Taiwanese-born violinist, violist, Mr. Su Tzu-Yuan obtained his Master’s Degree from National Taiwan Art University and To-Ho Gakuen Music University, Tokyo. His years of experience and unique teaching abilities have led to an outburst of demand for his teaching methods. Most of his students gained scholarships to study abroad and scored top marks in international examinations.

Cindy Lee

Violin / Piano

A member of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2006, Ms Cindy Lee works extensively with young musicians of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and School Ensembles. She is also an active chamber musician and performs frequently with string quartet and piano trio at the Esplanade Recital Studio and the Victoria Concert Hall.
Ms Lee started her piano lessons when she was 4 years old and graduated with double major degree on Piano and Violin Performance. She also graduated from Eastman School of Music in USA.

ShuenDa Wong

Piano / Chamber

Accomplished concert pianist, Shuenda performed in solo recitals, as concerto soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and orchestra pianist.
He graduated from the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg, Germany with high distinction in 2006 and completed his Masters degree under full scholarship from the Kobler Trust and a Barbara Stringer Scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama UK.
