* Candidates are allowed to enroll for more than one category.
** One free choice of repertoire from 4 music periods such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary (Earlier 20th Century) are accepted. Repertoire from ABRSM syllabus is also acceptable.
*** There is no minimum performance time required. Eg. If the category states a max of 4 minutes, you are allowed to submit a piece which is 1 minute.
**** Participant’s chosen repertoire exceeds the stated time limit within 1 minute is permitted with an extra fee of $40 is applicable for the submission. All repertoire time limit exceed more than 1 minute is not acceptable.

Adjudication & Evaluation

The Jury
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested. As part of the evaluation process, jurors will provide written feedback for each performance to support their future development.
Assessment Criteria
Competition will be evaluated on a 100-point system based on the following criteria:
  1. Technicality (40%) Intonation, Rhythm, Tonal Qualities, Dynamics, and Balance;
  2. Musicality (40%) Phrasing, Interpretation, and Style;
  3. Overall impression (20%) Expression and Overall Artistic Impression.
Each participant will receive a Jury’s Comments sheet which aims to offer professional insights into their level of performance for their progression in their music journey.
SRIMF 2025 highly anticipated solo competition will be hosted online, with distinguished professors offering invaluable insights. Winners will earn the honor of performing at the prestigious Solo Grand Prix Concert.

Awards & Certificate

11th SRIMF Solo Competition Winners Gala Concert & Grand Prix for selected winners at Singapore Victoria Concert Hall on 4th August 2025.
In addition, awards and prizes amounting to S$22000 will be distributed among selected winners in the form of scholarships and concert engagements in 2025*:
  • The Best Performance winner will take home a $2,000 cash prize
  • Fine Bow Prize for string participant
  • Live concert engagements with chamber orchestras in Europe and Asia
  • Music festival Performance & Masterclass in Vienna Virtuoso Festival
  • International Piano Masterclass with Professors from Berlin University of the Arts (UdK)
  • String & Woodwind Masterclass with Professors from Paris Conservatory
  • Winner’s Masterclass with Top-class Professors from Israel Conservatory and Royal Danish Academy
  • Other Masterclasses from SRIMF honorary jury panel
  • Top prize winners are given web presence on the homepage of Singapore Raffles International Music Festival and official Facebook page
  • Selected winners’ videos shall also be published on the competition YouTube channel

  • The Soloist that attains a Gold award with the highest score in each category will be awarded the title of “Category Champion” and may be selected to take part in the Gala & Grand Prix.
  • The Gala Concert & Grand Prix Competition will take place on 4th August 2025 at the Singapore Victoria Concert Hall. Grand prix finalists will be selected at the discretion of the jury.
  • A Printable/Encrypted Certificate will be provided by the Competition Committee.
  • Printed Certificates, Medals are provided on Request Only. The collection date will be advice on a later date on at SRIMF Office.
  • To minimize any damage during the delivery, we will not be providing Trophies/Medals to overseas participants. Only with Special Requests and the international shipping cost will be borne by Participants.

Competition Video Submission Guideline

  • Please tune your instrument before the start of the recording. Tuning does not need to be recorded.
  • Ensure that the video consistently captures the performer and the instrument, including the full length of the bow.
  • The entire performance must be one take, without any editing.
  • Recordings must be made no earlier than 5 months prior to the registration dateline.
  • All accompanied works are to be recorded with accompaniment.
  • Where an accompanist is part of the performance, they should be in view, although the string/woodwind player should be the main focus.
  • For the Piano Solo participants, The Camera must capture the player from the top of the head to mid-body, with a clear view of the fingers on the keyboard.
