Adjudication & Evaluation

The Jury
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested. As part of the evaluation process, jurors will provide written feedback for each ensemble performance to support their future development.
Assessment Criteria
Competition will be evaluated on a 100-point system based on the following criteria:
  1. Technicality (40%) Intonation, Rhythm, Tonal Qualities, Dynamics, and Balance;
  2. Musicality (40%) Phrasing, Interpretation, and Style;
  3. Overall impression (20%) Expression and Overall Artistic Impression.
The Group or Ensemble that achieves a Gold or Gold with Honors with the highest score in each category will be awarded the title of “Category Champion”.
The Group or Ensemble that achieves a Gold or Gold with Honors with the highest score in each category will be awarded the title of “Category Champion” and may be invited to perform in the Gala Grand Prix.
Special Awards
The jury may award special prizes or recommend a winning group for participation in the Gala Concert & Grand Prix Competition at their discretion.

The registration fee for local and international participating in the festival is a one-time charge of SGD $650 for Symphony Orchestra C1/C2/C3 Category. The deadline for the registration for the 12th Singapore Raffles International Music Festival is 1st May 2026. These fees are non-refundable and payable upon application to take part in the festival.

Application Requirements

The items in the list below must accompany every festival application, failing which the application would not be considered complete.
  1. Fill in Registration Form:
    • Include a photocopy of the player’s birth certificate or student card
  2. Write-Up Ensemble Profile & Photograph of group:
    • A short write-up – 50 words in English
    • Photography of group in high resolution for the festival booklet (minimum file size of 1MB)
    • Conductor’s Photography in high resolution (if apply)
  3. Registration Fee
    • Application that send in their completed registrations before 28 February 2026 will get an early bird registration waiver of SGD $250 (for international group) which will be offset in their final invoice. Please note that an individual festival package still must be chosen.

Festival Pass Fees (International Ensemble)

  • The festival has 2 Festival fee packages to select from. Every participating group must select a festival package as part of their participation.
  • Please drop an email to info@srimf.sg with your Ensemble Name and Country for us to send you the appropriate package rates for the festival.
